I like ones that can stack in full/half combos if packing in more than one layer and wanting a couple sizes. Large ones are better for folded shirts and pants and a folder may work better there. Sizes depend more on how you want to break things down, like one for socks and underwear, one for rolled tee shirts, etc. Eagle Creek, Gonex and ebags will all work. It's all about weight and zipper quality in packing cubes, IMHO. None of our cubes (amazon or aliexpress) have broken, if you shop around on aliexpress and buy the ones with best reviews and most orders you should be good. My husband uses the other two slim packs for his socks/ underwear and one large packing cube for his jeans/shirt. I use a 20L backpack so anything more than 2 slim cubes and a small one is too much for my pack. This set up keeps my stuff organized and easy to access, no problems with black holes of confusing wrinkled clothes. I also compress the underwear and socks with rubber bands. I wear mostly silk shirts so they pack pretty easy. The third “small” pack (from the aliexpress set) holds jeans/shorts if I need the extra space. The second slim pack I put my shirts/dress in. These are pretty conveniently small and work great for socks & underwear in one pack. I’m a 5’4” size s-m woman and I use 2 of these Dot & Dot Slim Packing Cubes and I also use maybe 1 “small” size packing cube which came in a set from aliexpress. My friend got 4 same-size skinnier cubes, and that works well for her. This leaves enough room for shoes, flip flops, and toiletries kit, plus some to spare for travel purchases. ![]() Small bag is for bras, socks, undies, and pj’s. Large bag holds rolled sweaters, jeans, leggings, dresses, etc. ![]() Personally, I stick to one large and one small cube because that’s what fits my bag and my needs.Quality is definitely important since you don’t want a broken zipper or torn side mid-travel. They’re part mesh on the top so I can see what’s inside/breathability, and made incredibly well (I STUFF them). I got my variety set from eBags probably 7+ years ago.Or use them for winter storage, gym bags, organizing your sock/drawers drawer. Take dimensions or buy a couple of sets for trial runs and return the ones you can’t use. The set that works on my bag didn’t quite work with my friend’s.
